I was over at Alan Sepinwall's blog reading his emmy pics for TV this year and I thought I would share my choices. Of course, I don't actually get to submit my ballot, but it is fun anyway.

It is soooooo cold....
Why is it that it is colder now (at 07:40am, when the sun is up) than what it was in the middle of the night? there is no wind, it just doesn't make sense....
The temp now is 0.9°C, feels like -1.5°C
( here is the chart from the bureau )

no, never, I have met plenty of girls with the same first name and many people with the same last name, but never the two together.
A few years back, I was working in Accounts and recived a invoice from someone with the same name as me but it was spelt differently. Thats as close as I got.

I have to pick my elective for next semester this week, but the choices all sound so boring. Any input from the inter-webs?
Choices are:
Marketing and the Consumer - School of Marketing
Tourism: The Global Future - School of Marketing
Managing your business - School of Business Law & Tax
Web Information Resources - School of Information Systems, Technology & Management
Cyberspace Law - Faculty of Law
Spirit, Myth & Sacredness in Architecture - Faculty of the Built Environment
Opiates of the People? Religion and Western Society - School of History and Philosphy
Dressed to Kill: Dress and Identity in History - School of History and Philosphy
Critical Thinking & Practical Reasoning - School of Philosophy
The us eof Language, Images & Symbols - School of Philosophy
Maniacs, Murderers and Medical Detectives - School of History and Philosphy
Indigenous Australia: Present to Future
I have to pick my top 3 choices. At the moment I am leaning towards
1. Opiates of the People? Religion and Western Society - because it sounds interesting
2. Managing your business - because it may be useful in the future
3. Cyberspace Law - Because I download a lot of movies and music from the net, It may become useful...
What do you all think?

It's a toss up between:
1.Beeping noises (when you don't know the sourse so it just keeps on beeping);
2.When people go through their ringtones on a bus or train; and
3.A phone that just rings and rings (never gets answered).

So I wrote the majority of my latest essay a few weeks ago, and it is due on monday. But I realised today that I complety missed the point of a whole part of the question.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
So tonight I have been writting another section to add in, in order to try and cover up for me not answering part of the question and in the other sections.
Now my essay is way to long and i still need some references to put in to my new sedction.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
So I guess my Sunday will be spent looking for some good quotes to add, and trying to cut back on the rest of the essay, I was thinking I would just try and make my intro and conclusion a bit shorter as they are pretty long, but I don't know how to cut them back whilst still including all the stuff that needs to be included...
God Help me...
xx

So just an update.
My laptop won't turn on and my sister broke my modem so that is why I am not online much these days and when I am I pretty much focus on research for my Essays...
Once I recieve my stimulas cheque I think I will buy myself a new laptop, hopefully I will still have enough $ to buy myslef a new modem, if not I will try and get my parents to buy me one as my sister was the person who broke the old one...
I still check my email a few times a week so thats all good.
Hopefully I will be back soon.
PS - writing essays sucks.

Here are some pictures from Sound Relief (Sydney) last night.
I didn't get many pics for a few of reasons; a)I wanted to actually enjoy the concert; b) I was literally right next to the stage for most of the show (see day-time pics) so the view just didn't include much of anything, especially when the artists where not right at the very front of the stage; and c) it was raining some of the time so I didn't want to ruin the camera.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So these pics are from my position during most of the show (as I was working), it was a pretty good location considering the other possible locations.
This is from when the rain stopped, Pics of Icehouse, Molly Meldrum, Barry Gibb (from the Bee Gees) and Olivia Newton John. I must say that I really enjoyed both Icehouse and Barry, Olivia was okay in the Duets with Barry, and she was definetly a great groupie for him when she just danced on stage (she was really into it), but her solo songs where a bit to slow and country for me.
So my favourite things about the show -
Coldplay with John Farnham ( ♥ that song 'your the voice').
Chris Martin running into the crowd, I didn't think he would make it back out in one peice (if at all).
Speech by the princes' (id it just me or is Harry way more cuter than Wills now?)
The Crowd during the rain when The Presets where on, it was wild.
Marcia Hines, simply for being so nice. she came and said hello to us when we (a group of 5 volunteers) where walking around behind the stadium (making our way from one post to another). It was just nice of her.
Things I didn't like-
Toni Collette, she just kept going on and on and on and on. If she wanted to be on stage so long she should have got her band up there and at least entertained us.
The Rain, boy did it come down in buckets.
Teenage girls (I was with security most of the day, and those teenage girls are shits. 95% of the crowd where great. .1% where drunk guys, only a couple of problems with them at my location. But those teenage girls, they should make all festicals teenage girl free zones....
I also shot some video on my camera, not sure if its any good or not as I havn't watched them all the way through yet. These are Barry & Olivia. Others I have are of these two again and Icehouse
Had my first lecture today. I also had to buy my textbooks and get my student ID card. Stupidly I didn't organise myself well, I parked on the south side of campus (free parking! YAHOO) so then I went to get my ID card first, at the Eastern end of campus. Then after waiting for almost an hour as the line was so long I got my ID card. I then had to go to the bookshop, in the middle of campus. Then I had to go to my lecture again at the eastern side of campus.
This would be fine if there were not so many frickin' steps.
There are some pics of the UNSW (University of New South Wales) Campus below the cut.( Pics under here )
I have a virus, this totally sucks. The virus is stopping me from downloading any updates or new versions of virus scans off of leitimate companies, so I am trying the pirated software, which is at least downloading....
If that doesn't work I am going to have to go buy some new virus software.....
Stupid Virus.
Unhappy meals at Maccas as prices based on consumer locations
By Frances Stewart
February 26, 2009 12:00am
McDONALD'S is putting prices up in outer suburbs because they think consumers there are more likely to accept higher charges.
The cost of menu items was previously based on restaurant overheads but the multinational fast-food chain is now using socio-economic factors as its key criteria for determining price under a new "demand-based pricing" scheme.A confidential corporate document obtained by The Daily Telegraph reveals that McDonald's Australia has identified an "opportunity to introduce more aggressive price increases" at dozens of stores across NSW, including Campbelltown, Doonside, Engadine, Epping, Fairfield, Gosford, Greenacre, Hurlstone Park and Liverpool.
A McDonald's franchisee said the biggest price hikes were concentrated in lower income areas around Australia.
"If you take the time to analyse the different restaurants, in general the poorer suburbs will pay more," the franchisee said.
"This is so very, very wrong."
The document said the objective of the new system was for individual stores "to maximise the potential for a price rise" while minimising the risk consumers will go elsewhere or choose a cheaper meal.
The biggest price hike will be for children's Happy Meals at all locations across Australia.
A standard Happy Meal will increase by 16.5 per cent in May, from $4.25 to $4.95.
Other menu items will rise in two stages by between 1.8 per cent and 3.3 per cent, depending on the location of the restaurant. The first stage of the price rises has already been implemented while the second will occur in May.
McDonald's corporate communications manager Bronwyn Stubbs denied the prices were forced on franchise owners and said by implementing demand-based pricing "the Australian approach has been brought into closer alignment with McDonald's global practice".
"The company's restaurants have always, and continue to have, the power to set their own pricing based on individual factors," she said.
Spokesman for consumer group Choice Christopher Zinn said he was surprised McDonald's would raise prices during tough economic times.
"It's a fascinating insight into the corporate culture of McDonald's that they believe they can get price rises through by doing it in two stages," he said.
