How I spent Christmas eve

At the beach yet again, not one of my best ideas today. The air temp must be about 20 degrees cooler here than at home and boy is it windy. We are a Thirroul and the flags Are so bloody far from the car park that at first I thought the beach was closed, at least until Emma got out and looked around the shrubs. To top it off a bird just pooped on my phone

Edited to add:

It wasn't all bad, the beach is rather empty, maybe 15 people in all including the life savers. It is really relaxing with so little noise. The youngest person here would be Emma so no kids running around screaming. There are a couple of surfgliders? out today taking advantage of the wind and they are so fun to watch.

Here are some pics from today

The road down to the beaches in Wollongong has the most amazing views, I love the drive down there (not so much the drive back as my car hates climbing hills let alone mountain climbing, plus after a day at the beach all you want to do is nap)

These are from near the top of Bulli Pass, which use to really freak me out when i was younger, this is only the second time i have driven down it myself but it is not as bad as I remember.

iPhone

So I purchased one of those iPhone car things that allow you to use the iPod through the radio and also charges the phone at the same time (see this link). Anyway I love it! The only downside is that it is kind of a process to connect the iPhone to the dock, it only takes a minute, but I have been so spoiled lately that I am getting very picky... I wish it would just take a second....

Even with the issue above, it has definetely been a great purchase...

Christmas Wishlist '09

Step One
• Make an LJ post. It can be public or friends only, whatever you’re most comfortable with.
The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes, and these wishes can be anything - from simple (a fan fiction written about your favorite pairing), to medium (a DVD you want), to really extravagant (a brand new laptop or car).

• Skim through your friends list and see who has posted their own wish lists.
Then - and this is the most important part - if you find a wish you can grant, and it’s in your heart to do so, make sure that person’s wish comes true.
Sometimes a person’s trash is another person’s treasure.
If you have a leather jacket you don’t want or a gift certificate you’re never going to use, give it to someone who wants it.

Step Three
• Post this wish list any time after November 1st. Then repost it two weeks before Christmas.

• You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to.
The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday fairy--to spread the joy.
Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

Adding to my DVD collection, I have most of my favourite TV shows on DVD but seem to be missing at least one season from each series (e.g.: I have seasons 1-4 of Alias, but not season 5) I would love to finally have the complete collections. These are the DVD's I still need, note that I need region 4 (Australian) DVD's (Copy and Pasted from my EzyDVD wishlist, which for some reason isn't able to be linked to directly)

ome Jack Bristow Fan Fic, There isn't much out there that without Irina, and as much as I like them together I would love to see him either before she came back (I.e. Before the series but set after she left) or with an another character. It doesn't have to be a fic with a love interest, it can just be a character peice or a fic with him dealing with Sydney growing up....

A new layout for my LJ, I am getting tired of this one, It doesn't have to have a banner (this one doesn't) but if you choose to add one any fandom that I watch is okay by me, I am not that picky (see my fandoms by either looking at the DVD's above or just my tags page.

A new pofile layout, mine just sucks

Someone to clean my bedroom, it is disgusting at the moment, but I am too lazy to do it myself

Get yourself something that will help save the environment, from those re-usable shopping bags (the Green bags in Australia) or puting a plastic water bottle in your toilet and/or get a dual flush toilet (cuts water usage, and you wont even notice) or go to the max and install a rain water tank or solar power ( i got solar power for my hot water only and it cut our electricity bill by more than half even though we have two more people living in the house). Or even insulate your roof to cut back on heating/ Air Con bills.

Find me a place to stay when I travel to your country, from a free couch to a hotel reccomendation, I don't care.

Smile and/or say hello to a stranger today.

Donate something, you could get rid of those old clothes you don't wear anymore and give them to the salvation Army, or put a gift under the tree at one of those department stores that arranges to give the gifts to children who would go without.

To the beach or not to the beach

It is so hot...

I slept in until about 12.30pm when the heat woke me (no air-con in my bedroom) and I wish I went to the beach straight away, but I didn't as the weather station said there was going to be afternoon thunderstorms..

Now 4 hours later, still no storms and I am still thinking of going to the beach but I know that as soon as I get there the thunderstorms will start.

I wish I lived closer to the beach so if it rained it wouldn't be such a wasted trip.
